Purpose of Certificate II and Certificate III in Ministry

To build Vanuatu’s churches and society by equipping people with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for ‘lay’ ministry roles or assistant pastoral roles within Vanuatu’s churches in guided capacities, and to provide a pathway to further education and training. This is achieved through a general grounding in the Bible and Christian theology, as well as training in a range of practical ministry skills and encouragement to spiritual maturity. Roles performed by graduates may include (but are not limited to): assistant pastors (or ‘lay’ pastors), elders, lay preachers, evangelistic speakers, Bible study leaders, cross-cultural missionaries to Melanesia, Sunday school leaders, children’s ministry workers, women’s ministry leaders, and youth leaders within congregations.
